Georgette A. Quackenbush, M.A., Ed.M., LPC
Georgette obtained her Master of Arts and Master of Education in Counseling Psychology from Teacher College, Columbia University. Georgette is currently the lead Mental Health Consultant in the collaboration between Integrated Wellness Group and the New Haven Board of Education Head Start sites. She oversees a staff of mental health consultants in the provision of services to five Head Start sites as well as Early Head Start Center- and Home-Based sites in the New Haven area. Georgette also provides direct service, particularly to Spanish speaking young children and their families. Services provided include: developmental screenings of all enrolled children, classroom observations of children exhibiting challenging behaviors, child-specific and classroom interventions, assessment of classroom environment and teacher-student interactions and referrals to community agencies for children and families who require more intensive services than those provided in the classroom. Her experience with mental health consultation also extends to sites in Norwich, CT Home-Based Head Start. Georgette has a special interest in diversity, multiculturalism, and bilingualism and has been dedicated to serving at-risk children through her work as a lead research assistant at Columbia in Washington Heights, NY and as a clinical therapist in a New Haven community based center.
